On October 5, representatives of a Chinese technology company visited the Moscow Theological Academy. The meeting with administration staff and students took place at the Elizabethan Hall of the Academy.

On October 4, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, met with Archimandrite Seraphim (Shemyatov), Representative of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia under the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.

On October 2 and 3, the Academy officed Sunday services at the Intercession Academic Church. Chanting at the Divine Liturgy performed by an Orthodox choir of Engineering troops of the Russian Armed Forces "For the Faith and Fatherland".

On September 30, Archpriest Oleg Mumrikov, Head of the Biblical Studies Department at the Moscow Theological Academy, took part in the first plenary meeting of the Synodal Committee on Bioethics held at the Sretenskaya Theological Academy.

On September 29 and 30, teachers of the Moscow Theological Academy took part at the XIII International Scientific Theological Conference "Topical Issues of Contemporary Theology and Church Science" held at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy.

At the invitation of the Bishop of Bezhetsk and Vesyegonsk Philaret, a group of students from the Moscow Theological Academy visited the Bezhetsk diocese for a missionary practice.

On September 29, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, attended a plenary meeting of the Synodal Biblical and Theological Committee, which took part at the General Church Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies named after Sts Cyril and Methodius.

On September 27, on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the Metropolitan of Tallinn and All Estonia Eugene met with students in the Great Hall of the Moscow Theological Academy.

The Moscow Theological Academy has published the third issue of a scientific a journal "Church Historian". The editor-in-chief is Professor Alexei Konstantinovich Svetozarsky, Head of the Church History Department.

The Moscow Theological Academy won a competition organized by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.

On the night of September 27-28, 1986, a fire broke out at the Moscow Theological Academy. Unfortunately, it began in an academic dormitory. As a result, five 3rd year undergraduate students perished.

On September 26 and 27, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, officed festive services of the Exaltation of the Lord's Cross at the Intercession Academic Church. During the Divine Liturgy, the Rector performed presbyter's and deacon's ordinations and tonsured some academic students as Readers.
