Bishop Theodorite and teachers of the Moscow Theological Academy took part in the anniversary events of the Tula Theological Seminary

On November 23, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, the Rector Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite and teachers of the Moscow Theological Academy took part in the anniversary events of the Tula Theological Seminary, which commemorated Holy Martyr Archpriest Peter Pavlushkov, Rector of the Tula Theological Seminary in 1919.

The Metropolitan of Tula Alexiy co-served by Bishop Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, and the invited clergy celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church in honour of Twelve Apostles in Tula, where Hieromartyr Peter Pavlushkov served.

At the end of the service, Metropolitan Alexiy, Bishop Theodorite and the clergy glorified Hieromartyr Peter.

Then, Metropolitan Alexiy addressed an assembly with his archpastoral word. Bishop Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, pronounced a welcoming speech in front of the clergy, parishioners of the Twelve Apostles Church and teachers of the Tula Theological Seminary. 

After the festive service, Hegumen Evfimiy (Moiseev), Rector of the Tula Theological Seminary, took guests on a tour round the Tula Theological Seminary.

At the solemn Act, Metropolitan Alexy and Bishop Theodorite said their welcoming speeches and expresses sincere congratulations to teachers, staff and students of the Tula Theological Seminary. 

This year the Seminary celebrates its 220th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of the formation of the Tula Archdiocese and the Belevsk and Aleksin Diocese. Hegumen Gerasim (Dyachkov), Associate Professor of the MThA Church History Department and Head of the Church History Department at the Tula Theological Seminary, pronounced a welcoming speech. 

During the ceremony, Metropolitan Alexiy presented thanksgiving letters to Hegumen Gerasim and N.S. Semenova, Associate Professor of the Moscow Theological Academy.

As a part of festive events, the Tula Theological Seminary hosted the All-Russian Scientific and Theological Conference "Humanitarian Science in the Theological School", which took part in a blended format.

In a section "Theology and Biblical Studies" M.V. Kovshov gave a presentation on "Key Concepts of Ethics in the Theology of the Old Testament."

In a section "Church-practical disciplines" Hegumen Meletiy (Sokolov), Associate professor of the Philology Department at the Moscow Theological Academy, gave a report on "Teaching public speech in theological school."

N. S. Semenova, PhD, Assistant professor at the MThA Church and Practical Disciplines Department, gave a report on "The genesis and evolution of the concept of the secular state of law".

S.M. Shestakova, PhD in Philosophy, Associate Professor at the MThA Department of Church Practical Disciplines, gave a report on "Pedagogy in the system of theological education: the design experience."

In a section “Teachers of the Tula Theological Seminary: the 170th anniversary of N.I. Troitsky and P.I. Malitsky ”, Hieromonk Philophey (Artyushin), PhD in Theology, Associate Professor at the Departments of Biblical Studies and Philology of the Moscow Theological Academy, gave a report on “N.I. Troitsky as a biblical scholar and his contribution to the study of the synoptic problem ”.

В секции «Наставники ТулДС: к 170-летию со дня рождения Н.И. Троицкого и П.И. Малицкого» в очном формате выступил доктор богословия (PhD), доцент кафедр библеистики и филологии Московской духовной академии иеромонах Филофей (Артюшин). Он представил доклад на тему «Н.И. Троицкий как библеист и его вклад в изучение синоптической проблемы».

In a section "Theology and Life", Hegumen Dionisy (Shlyonov), PhD in Theology, Professor at the Philology Department of the Moscow Theological Academy, gave a report on "Patrology as a meeting place for science and creativity."

Anton Pospelov, a postgraduate student of the Theology Department at the Moscow Theological Academy, gave a report on "Mathematics as a Tool of Religious Choice".
