On Friday, March 6, of the first week of Great Lent, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill performed the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts in the Holy Trinity- St. Sergius Laura. He was accompanied by the bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy.
On March 4th, the bishop Pitirim of Zvenigorod performed the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts in the Intercession Academic Church. In the evening, the MThA rector served vespers with a canon of St. Andrew of Crete in the seminary church of St. John Climacus.
On Tuesday, March 3rd, services of the first week of Great Lent were held in the home church of the Moscow Theological Academy. The bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim, Rector of the Academy, read the Great Canon of St. Andrew of Crete.
On March 1st, after an evening service bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim performed the ceremony of forgiveness. The rector, teachers and students apologized to each other in order to peacefully start a period of Lent.
On February 27, the bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim and the metropolitan of Tambov and Rasskazov Theodosius, Rector of the Tambov Theological Seminary, signed a partnership agreement between two educational institutions.
On February 26 the exhibition "Holy Trinity St. Sergiu’s Laura in contemporary painting" was opened in the Elizabethan Hall of the Moscow Theological Academy. The exhibition presents the landscapes of the “Zolotoy Ples” Gallery performed at the open air sessions in the Trinity-Sergiu’s Laura in 2017-2019.
On February 19 Priest Sergiy Kim, a teacher of the Philological Department of the Moscow Theological Academy, took part in a workshop at the Institute of Christian Sources in Lyon. The theme of the seminar was "St. John Chrysostom: publications and a history of texts".
On February 24 and 25, divine services were held at the Academic Church of the Intercession of the Theotokos dedicated to the memory of St. Alexy, Metropolitan of Moscow. Bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, performed the Divine Liturgy and an evening service.
On Sunday morning, February 23, 2020 a long-term professor at the Moscow Theological Academy, a talented teacher and mentor, patrologist, historian and translator Alexei Ivanovich Sidorov, ended his earthly journey in which for 32 years he had been teaching patristics.
Priest Vladimir Duhovich, PhD in Biology, Head of a research center of bioethics and high technologies at the Moscow Theological Academy took part in a programme on “SPAS” TV channel. He presented some controversies which exist between public and religious ethic.
On February 19th the Training Committee’s meeting between rectors and administration staff of theological institutions took place in an St. Andrew monastery conference hall. Rector, the bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim represented the Moscow Theological Academy.
