The Department of Biblical Studies of the MThA was founded on February 8, 2004.
At present the Department offers 31 disciplines and carries out 9 practices. The Department is headed by the Associate Professor Archpriest George Klimov. The biblical department directs its students toward independent research. The department has a biblical office, where there is a library and an archeological museum, which is constantly replenished with modern scientific biblical/theological editions.
The main field of research chosen by the Department of Biblical Studies is the development of an advanced course of Holy Father's exegetics with the involvement of a wide context of all modern biblical research. This is our token to traditionalism and, on the other hand, to the development of new approaches to solving specific problems associated with the study of a complex and responsible area of study: Holy Scripture in the light of Holy Tradition.
