On March 11, the next meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Moscow Theological Academy was held. The meeting was attended by vice-rectors and representatives of the departments, members of the Training and Methodological Department, the dean’s office and the MThA press office.
The publishing house of the Biblical and Theological Institute published a book by Oleg Davydov, Professor of the Moscow Theological Academy "The Revelation of Love. The Trinitarian truth of being".
On February 27, the bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim and the metropolitan of Tambov and Rasskazov Theodosius, Rector of the Tambov Theological Seminary, signed a partnership agreement between two educational institutions.
On February 19 Priest Sergiy Kim, a teacher of the Philological Department of the Moscow Theological Academy, took part in a workshop at the Institute of Christian Sources in Lyon. The theme of the seminar was "St. John Chrysostom: publications and a history of texts".
Priest Vladimir Duhovich, PhD in Biology, Head of a research center of bioethics and high technologies at the Moscow Theological Academy took part in a programme on “SPAS” TV channel. He presented some controversies which exist between public and religious ethic.
A research center of bioethics and high technologies at the Moscow Theological Academy has recently been
established by order of the bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim, Rector of the MThA.
On January 29 th participants of the 27 th International Educational Christmas Readings
visited the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) where they took part in the 7 th
Science and practical conference “Spiritual and moral culture in high school. Battle for Victory
75 years after”.
On January 20 th Julia Matveeva, PhD in study of art, gave her first lecture on “Heaven and fabrics:
iconography, liturgical practice, historical development” which took place in the MThA library.
On November 11 th Oleg Suhanov, Moscow Theological Academy teacher and a member
of the Russian Orthodox Church Academic Council, took part in an inter-regional
theoretical and practical conference “Orthodox religious education, physical education and
sport”.
On November 14 th the regular meeting of Dissertation Council #2 took place in the
Moscow Theological Academy. The Council includes the Church History department,
Church-practical department, Philology (Slavic languages) and the department of
History and Theory of Church Art. Archpriest Victor Lisyunin and hieromonk Iosif
(Korolyov) defended their candidate dissertations.
On the November 11th representatives of the Moscow Theological Academy, the Institute of Coptic Studies and the Coptic Theological Seminary met in Elizabeth’s hall due to have a round table discussion dedicated to the partnership between theological institutions.
