On January 30, the Rector celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church.

At the end of the Eucharistic Canon, Bishop Theodorite ordained Subdeacon Dmitriy Mikhalev into a deacon.

Before the Communion, Ivan Krivonogov, a 2nd-year Master's student, delivered a sermon:

The memory of the Lord and the joy of hope turns fear into rapidly dissipating smoke. The truth is, no matter how scary the first step is, we don't have to take it. Christ made it for us. He supports helpless toddlers’ steps and carries them in His hands. Don’t be afraid, if you cross the threshold of the church for the first time, because the Savior has been waiting for you there. He healed the paralytics and gave them the strength to carry their beds. Don’t be afraid to confess your sins, no matter how grave they are, because Christ will forgive and give strength to correct. He let the blind to see the light. Therefore, someone who finds himself in the darkness should not stop as Christ is ahead.
