The Academy celebrated the memory of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker

On May 22, the Holy Church commemorates the transfer of St. Nicholas’ relics from Lycia to Bari.

On May 21, Archimandrite Platon (Igumnov) led the All-night vigil at the Intercession Academic Church co-served by teachers and students in the priesthood.

On May 22, Archimandrite Venedikt (Knyazev) led the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Church assisted by the academic clergy.

After the Sacrament verse, Alexander Igonin, a second-year Master’s student, delivered a sermon:

Jesus Christ’s Resurrection is an amazing event braking all nature laws. It is a unique example of the Divine intervention in a natural order of things. Faith in the Resurrection is a base of our faith. It is impossible to be a Christian and do not recognize the reality of Christ’s Resurrection. According to apostle Paul, if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins (1 Cor. 15:17). Having conquered the death by His Resurrection, Jesus Christ rescued the entire human race and we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man (1 Cor. 15:49). So, for us it became a source of constant joy expressed in Holy Easter».
