At the Sunday Liturgy, the Academy offered a prayer to the Lord for the terrorist attack victims in Krasnogorsk

On March 24, 2024, the Week of the Triumph of Orthodoxy was celebrated by the Sunday Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church.

On the Mourning Day, the Church of Christ remembers the terrorist attack victims at the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk on March 22. Today in every church there is a prayer offered to God for them and their families who have suffered an irreparable loss. In common prayer and compassion, the Church shares their pain and suffer.

All in all, the Triumph of Christ’s Church is when everyone does his best to bear his neighbor’s cross, say a word of consolation, show mercy and compassion.

The academic family takes part in a common prayer at the Sunday Divine Liturgy for the repose of those who were killed in taht terrible tragedy and for the health of those, who were badly injured. The Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Abbot of the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra and Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, headed the service at the Intercession Academic Church co-celebrated by students and teachers in the priesthood. 

At the service there were D.A. Akulov, Head of the Sergiev Posad Urban District, and R.G. Tikhomirov, Chairman of the Deputies’ Council of the Sergiev Posad Urban District. 

At the special litany, the Academy offered prayers to God for the health of those affected during the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall. At the funeral litany, a prayer was offered for the repose of its victims. 

At the Antiphons, Bishop Kirill tonsured Georgy Atamantsev, a first-year Master's student at the Sretenskaya Theological Academy, as a reader and then elevated him into the rank of subdeacon. After the Eucharistic Canon, the Rector ordained Subdeacon George into a deacon.

After the Sacrament verse, Ivan Romanov, a preparatory Master’s student, delivered a sermon.

At the end of the service, Bishop Kirill addressed an assembly with his archpastoral word.
