Students of the Moscow Theological Academy visited the Epiphany Cathedral in Moscow
On June 2, on the day of transfer the relics of St. Alexis, Metropolitan of Moscow, 1st-year Master’s students of the Department of Church-Practical Disciplines at the Moscow Theological Academy headed by Associate Professor N.S. Semenova visited the Epiphany Cathedral in Moscow as part of their jural and pedagogical practice.
After the Divine Liturgy, led by the Metropolitan of Voskresensk Dionysius, a first vicar of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, and co-served by Bishop of Mytishchi Theophylact, Bishop of Odintsovo and Krasnogorsk Thomas as well as the clergy of the cathedral and from other Moscow churches.
After having taken an excursion round the cathedral and venerating its shrines, Priest Viktor Lenok, a second-year Master student, and Natalia Semenova conducted a law quiz within the framework of a pedagogical practice.
The law quiz was based on the Master’s program of jural practice for the "Pastorology and Liturgy" section of the Department of Church-Practical Disciplines. It included problem-solving tasks and a questionnaire.
Three students teams had to solve their assigned tasks for a limited time. At the end, a winning team with more correct answers and points was determined.
Teachers and students of the Moscow Theological Academy thanked the Metropolitan of Voskresensk Dionysius and the Bishop of Odintsovo and Krasnogorsk Thomas, Dean of the Epiphany Cathedral, for the warm reception and an opportunity to prayerfully commemorate the day of transfer the relics of St. Alexis at the place, where they are kept.
