Meeting Of The Council Of The "Kinovia" Cultural And Educational Center Held

On June 17, 2026, a meeting of the Council of the "Kinovia" Cultural and Educational Center of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra was held in the Elizabethan Hall. This is the main governing body of the cultural and educational center.

The meeting was attended by permanent members of the council and "Kinovia" staff: Archimandrite Simeon (Tomachinsky), Archimandrite Alipiy (Kastalsky), Archimandrite Dorofey (Ostrovsky), Abbot Lev (Belenkov), Priest Sergiy Konkov, A. Sh. Sharafutdinov, N. V. Grigoryeva, I. E. Alekseeva, K. N. Malakaev, A. V. Bogolyubova, as well as invited expert K. S. Popov.

The center's director, Archimandrite Simeon (Tomachinsky), presented the "Kinovia" educational project on Radio "Vera": the production of a series of programs about St. Sergius of Radonezh and the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. Radio programs that have already been recorded and aired were presented, and topics and speakers for new recordings were suggested.

Then, Archimandrite Simeon spoke about plans to create a four-part documentary film dedicated to St. Sergius of Radonezh. This is a joint project of "Kinovia" and the "Bokov Factory" production agency with financial support from the Internet Development Institute.

Invited expert Konstantin Stanislavovich Popov spoke about the implementation of the media project "Theology With Stars". This is a project for creating and promoting short video clips in which famous Russian actors, cultural figures, and media personalities explain complex dogmas and basic concepts of the Christian faith in simple language. During the presentation, one of the released video clips was demonstrated as an example, statistics for the released episodes were presented, and future plans for the development of this media project were discussed.

Deputy Director of the center Priest Sergiy Konkov presented a report on the script contest for students of the Moscow Theological Academy titled "Write A Text For A Star", reported on the work of the Orthodox scriptwriting courses at the MThA, and spoke about the past meetings of the "Syntax" lecture series and the joint reading of the Gospel of John. Starting from September 2026, it is planned to resume the activities of the lecture series in two formats: in the Great Assembly Hall of the MThA and in the hall of the "Trikotazhka" art space near the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.

In conclusion, the publishing projects of the Cultural and Educational Center were discussed: Assistant Director Konstantin Malakaev presented the released 2027 desk calendar - "A Year With St. Luke" (for the 150th anniversary of his birth) with quotes from his sermons, and reported on the continuation of the publication of the sermons of St. Luke (Voyno-Yasenetsky) from the typescript collection of the Moscow Theological Academy library. The title for the fifth volume of selected sermons, "On The Cross And Resurrection", was approved.

The next meeting of the Council was tentatively scheduled for November-December 2026.
