The Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy concelebrated His Holiness Patriarch Kirill at divine services on the day of St. Sergius of Radonezh

On October 7, 2023, on the eve of the repose of St. Sergius of Radonezh, His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill arrived at the Holy Trinity St. Sergius’s Lavra.

At the Patriarchal chambers, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church was met by the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Abbot of the Holy Trinity St. Sergius’ Lavra and the Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy; S.A. Pakhomov, Chairman of the Construction, Housing and Communal Services Committee of the State Duma at the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; D.A. Akulov, Head of the Sergiev Posad district of the Moscow region as well as the brethren of the monastery.

His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow Kirill led the service at Vespers with the reading of an Akathist to St. Sergius of Radonezh in the Trinity Cathedral.

Before the service, His Holiness venerated the relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

Clergy co-served His Holiness included Metropolitan Yuvenaly (Poyarkov); the Metropolitan of Tashkent and Uzbekistan Vikenty; the Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Varsanophiy; the Metropolitan of Krutitsk and Kolomna Pavel; the Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Benjamin; the Metropolitan of Voskresensk Dionysiy, a manager of affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate; the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill and monks the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra: Archimandrite Macariy (Veretennikov), Archimandrite Jeremiah (Soloviev), Archimandrite Alexy (Turikov), a secretary of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill; Archimandrite Alipy (Kastalsky-Borozdin), Archimandrite Nikandr (Pylyshyn), Head of the Financial and Economic Administration of the Moscow Patriarchate etc.

Later, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill led the All-night Vigil in the Trinity Cathedral.
