MThA Teachers took part in a meeting of the Commission on Church Law of the Inter-Council Presence

On October 1, a meeting of the Commission on Church Law of the Inter-Council Presence of the Russian Orthodox Church was held remotely.

Metropolitan of Berlin and Germany Mark chaired a videoconference which was attended by professors of the Department of Church Practical Disciplines at the Moscow Theological Academy. They were Professor archpriest Vladislav Tsypin and archpriest Alexander Zadornov, Associate Professor and Acting Head of the Department. 

Participants discussed such canonical themes entrusted to the commission as "The practice of applying church penance to the laity of the Russian Orthodox Church", "Joint prayers with non-Orthodox", "Criteria for recognition the veneration of a holy man, if his veneration was not established by a formal act of the highest church authority" etc. 

The secretary of the commission archpriest Alexander Zadornov made a speech "On the Significance of the Canonical Corpus in Modern Church Life". The theme of "Codification of the Church Law Sources" will be discussed at the Justinian Readings, scheduled on November 27, 2020. They will be hosted by the Department of Church Practical Disciplines at the Moscow Theological Academy.
