Teachers and staff of the Academy took part in a round table at the General Church Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies
On October 11, the Church-wide Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies hosted a round table the “Experience in the development and implementation of a training program for the scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel of a postgraduate department”.
The round table was attended by Vice-rectors for academic affairs, Heads of postgraduate departments of the Moscow Theological Academy, the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, the Sretenskaya Theological Academy, the Orthodox St. Tikhon’s Humanitarian University, the General Church Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies.
Priest Pavel Lizgunov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prokhorenko L.V., Head of the Educational and Methodological Department, Hegumen Dionysius (Shlyonov), Head of Postgraduate Studies, Makarov D.V., Deputy Head of Postgraduate Studies, Myachin I .A., Assistant Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Cherkashin I.A., an employee at the Postgraduate Studies Department, represented the Moscow Theological Academy.
Archpriest Maxim Kozlov, Head of the Educational Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church, Rector of the General Church Postgraduate and Doctoral studies, chaired the round table.
The first part of the event was devoted to a detailed analysis of state and church regulatory requirements for scientific training programs at the Postgraduate Sudies.
Irina Dmitrievna Lobanova, Head of Planning and Inspections Sector at the Department for Supervision and Control over Educational Organizations of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science, made a report "On regulatory changes in the procedure for the development and implementation of training programs for scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in a postgraduate school"
Romanna Evgenievna Safir, Head of the Department for Training Highly Qualified Personnel of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, shared her experience in developing and implementing postgraduate programs at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.
In the second part of the event, representatives of higher theological educational institutions shared their experience in the development and implementation of training programs for scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in a postgraduate school. As a result, they shared their views on the most controversial issues such as the feasibility of maintaining a competency-based approach, features of admission to a postgraduate school, the procedure for appointing research supervisors of graduate students and other issues.
At the end of the event, they agreed to organize such and have the exchange of experience on a regular basis.
