"Before You, Savior, I reveal the sins I have committed": the second day of the Great Lent at the Academy

On Tuesday March 16, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite headed services of the first week of the Great Lent at the Intercession Church of the Moscow Theological Academy.

Chants and prayers of the second day of the Great Lent continue to call the Christians for repentance and transformation of their lives:

«Explore your soul, like Joshua, and look at the Promised Land as it is, and dwell in it by fulfilling the law».

The main goal of a Christian life is to prepare a soul for eternity and its meeting with the Lord. This is possible if the Christian desires to live with Christ and strive to fulfill His commandments.

On the way to the Heavenly Kingdom, a person is constantly hindered by his passions and the evil spirits, however, as the Gospel says this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting (Matt. 17:21). Therefore, it is an effective recipe to humble your soul and calm your passions.

On March 16, the academic clergy performed the morning divine service at the Intercession Church of the Moscow Theological Academy. Archimandrite Hilarion (Porkavets) officed the lity for the dead.

At Great Compline at the Intercession Academic Church, the Rector Bishop Theodorite read the Canon of St. Andrew of Crete.

At the end of the service, Bishop Theodorite addressed an assembly with his archpastoral word.
