Students of the Academy visited Moscow

On September 5, students, who this year entered the Moscow Theological Academy, went round Moscow sightseeings.

At 8:30 a group departed from the Moscow Theological Academy, to get on time for the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.

At the end of a prayer service, students went on an excursion around the Cathedral, climbed a bell tower, where they can get a bird's eye view of Moscow.

Then, the group was divided in two. One half went to the Novospasskiy Monastery, where the Metropolitan of Voskresensk Dionysiy, Head of the Moscow Patriarchate Management, met the students at lunch and presented them some memorable gifts.

During the visit, Metropolitan Dionysiy asked students about their motivation for making such a life choice and spoke about crucial characteristics for pastoral ministry. After the meal, a group went on a sightseeing tour around the Novospasskiy monastery visiting the tomb of the Romanovs, a bell tower, main temples of the monastery and got acquainted with the most important milestones in contemporary Russian History.

After that, the first group left for the Danilov Monastery, where they got acquainted with its history and shrines.

The second group went straight to the Danilov Monastery, where they had a delicious meal and went on a sightseeing tour to get acquainted with the place and its shrines. At the end, guests got memorable gifts and left for the Novospasskiy monastery, where they were met by Metropolitan Dionysiy.

The administration and students of the Academy are mostly grateful to the Metropolitan of Voskresensk Dionysius, the Bishop of Solnechnogorsk Alexiy, Archpriest Mikhail Ryazantsev and everyone participated and assisted in organizing this educational trip.
