Council of the Church Singing Art Faculty summed up the results of the past academic year and discussed plans for the next academic year

The end of the year meeting of the Pedagogical Council of the Church Singing Art Faculty of the Moscow Theological Academy took place in the Great Hall of the Academy. During the meeting, Hegumen Lazar (Gnativ), Dean of the faculty, summed up the results of an academic year, raised issues related to the educational process and informed the teaching staff of the forthcoming establishment of two departments aimed to increase the level of educational and methodological work at the faculty. 

Additionally, Hegumen Lazar mentioned the work of the round table "Educational and methodological support for choristers’ educational programs" which was held as a part of the XXX International Educational Readings on May 23, 2022. The event was organized by the Educational Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church to solve a number of tasks for the work of teachers on new teaching aids, pointed out the need to publish and republish some textbooks, anthologies and other literature necessary to fully support the educational process of the faculty.

In his speech, Hegumen Lazar noted the creative achievements of the Mixed Choir under the conduct of M.P. Shoshin, which won the Grand Prix of the VII Easter Choir Festival. They also discussed plans for the next academic year, public lectures and other activities in the framework of the "Academic Readings at the Church Singing Art Faculty of the Moscow Theological Academy." 

During the meeting, K.V. Cherepenina, a director of studies. announced some tasks for updating work programs and other documents dealing with implementation of new disciplines.

Assistant Dean E.V. Borovinsky summed up the results of a current year and announced the time for entrance exams and the work of examination committees.

At the end of the meeting, Hegumen Lazar congratulated teachers with a successful end of the academic year and wished them all the best in the field of church education, choristers’ and singing practice.

The meeting of the Pedagogical Council ended with a students’ concert with piano and vocal performances.
