Metropolitan of Tallinn and All Estonia Eugene met with the MThA students
On September 27, on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the Metropolitan of Tallinn and All Estonia Eugene met with students in the Great Hall of the Academy. Metropolitan Eugene was the Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy from 1995 to 2018.
He started the meeting with recalling a fatal accident on September 27-28, 1986, which took lives of five students of the Academy.
Then, Metropolitan Eugene touched upon the relation between an educational activity and a spiritual life, he also spoke about a vivid example of a monastic life for students at theological schools.
At the end, everyone could asked Metropolitan Eugene some questions. The most interesting were the ones about the relationship between local churches, the Church and a state as well as personal questions about Metropolitan Eugene’s school years as a student of the Academy.
After the meeting, students had dinner and then gathered at the Intercession Academic Church to prayfully commemorate five students perished in fire in 1986.
