Nun Juliania’s icons returned to the Intercession Academic Church after their restoration.
On February 13, some icons painted by nun Juliania (Sokolova) were returned to the Royal Doors of the Intercession Academic Church after their restoration.
The icons painted in the late 70s during the rectorship of Bishop Vladimir (Sabodan) became one of the last works of nun Juliania. In 2020, the icons were restored at the workshop of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, headed by a teacher of the icon-painting faculty and nun Juliania’s grand-niece. Earlier, the same workshop restored the deacon's doors and icons on the back side of iconostasis of the Intercession Church, created by the nun Juliana.
February 16 marks the 40th anniversary of nun Juliana’s repose. To this date, the restorers renovated icons of the Evangelists and the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos from the Royal Doors of the Intercession Academic church of the Moscow Theological Academy.
On February 16, a memorial service for the nun Juliana will take place at 15:30 at the Intercession Church.
