Bishop Theodorite took part in a plenum of the Synodal Biblical and Theological Commission

On June 22, 2021, the Metropolitan of Volokolamsk Hilarion chaired a meeting the Synodal Biblical and Theological Commission (SBThC), which took place at the General Church Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies named after St. Cyril and Methodius in a blended format. The Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, was among the participants. 

Opening the meeting, Metropolitan Hilarion reported on work of the Commission focusing on such papers as "Faith and Natural Sciences", a commentary on invalidity of ordinations done by Ukrainian schismatics and a commentary on Patriarch Bartholomew’s letter to the Archbishop of Albania Anastassiy, as well as the publication of three collections realized under the auspices of the Commission: 

1) Fundamentals of Orthodox Doctrine; 

2) Fundamentals of the canonical structure and liturgical life of the Orthodox Church;

3) Fundamentals of Orthodox moral teaching.

Those collections appeared as a result of long-term work of the Commission and were started by the ever-memorable Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Philaret.

The main part of the meeting was devoted to the consideration of Schema-Archimandrite Sophrony’s (Sakharov) theological heritage.
