Bishop Theodorite took part in a meeting dedicated to the preparation of the 600th anniversary of finding the venerable St. Sergius’ relics

On May 21, a meeting dedicated to the preparation of the 600th anniversary of finding the relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh and a foundation of the Trinity Cathedral took place at the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra.

The meeting was attended by: 

  • The Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Thomas, Abbot of the Holy Trinity – St. Sergius Lavra; 
  • The Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy; 
  • Sergei Borisovich Tostanovskiy, First Deputy Head of the Sergiev Posad City District Administration; 
  • Sergei Alexandrovich Lopatnikov, Deputy Head of the Sergiev Posad City District Administration; 
  • Olga Konstantinovna Dudareva, Head of the Education Department at the Sergiev Posad City District Administration; 
  • Irina Valentinovna Bykovskaya, Head of the Security department at the Sergiev Posad City District Administration; 
  • Olga Mikhailovna Mikailova, Head of the Federal Office for Protecting Customers Rights and Human Welfare in the Moscow Region, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Moscow Region; 
  • Yulia Leonidovna Boikova, Head of the Sergiev Posad Department at the Federal Office for Protecting Customers Rights and Human Welfare in the Moscow Region; 
  • Aleksey Alekseevich Smirnov, Head of the Sergiev Posad ambulance station; 
  • There were also heads of various services of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra, military officers and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. 

At the meeting, they discussed such topical issues related to the celebration of the 600 anniversary as accommodation for pilgrims, law enforcement, medical care and fire safety.

At the beginning of the meeting, Margarita Nikolaevna Glebova, Chief physician of the medical service of the Lavra, outlined necessary measures to provide some basic medical care.

Hieromonk Polikarp (Tibanov), head of the Pilgrimage Center, described the route for the procession starting at the Intercession stauropegial nunnery in Khotkovo to the Holy Trinity –St. Sergius Lavra on July 17, 2022. Hieromonk Archippus (Shakhanov), a cellarer at the Lavra, announced the setting of a tent camp on the Blagoveshchensk field.

Priest Vasily Kovalchuk spoke about the preparation of a choral festival from on July 16-18.

During the meeting, Bishop Thomas suggested refreshing a mural (Str. Krasnaya Armya, 139) and add more parking spaces.

Bishop Theodorite gave a report on festive events prepared by the Moscow Theological Academy.

At the end, Sergei Borisovich Tostanovskiy suggested holding an additional meeting on security issues later.
