Students of the Philosophy Faculty at the Moscow State University visited the Museum of the Moscow Theological Academy “Church-Archaeological Cabinet”
This week, students of the Philosophy Faculty at the Moscow State University visited the Museum of Christian Art at the Moscow Theological Academy "Church-Archaeological Cabinet" to take part in the educational project "Heart of Russian Culture".
The Church-Archaeological Cabinet welcomes not only students and teachers of the Moscow Theological Academy. It is providing an educational program, which gives an opportunity for students of Russian universities to study masterpieces of Christian art. In September, everyone will be also able to attend a free online course on the basics of Christian art.
There are four main areas such as icon painting, religious painting, church architecture, arts and crafts. It’s main aim is to create vivid images, show different types of art and its history. The course consists of video lectures, podcasts, interactive quizzes, infographic articles and other useful stuff.
The museum has already been visited by students and teachers from the MHIMO, the Moscow State Pedagogical University and the Moscow State University. Volunteers presented the project in Russian universities and talk about the opportunity to study church art in a well-known academic museum in Russia.
