Joint Dissertation Council in Theology has been opened
A joint dissertation council has been opened on the basis of three Russian higher educational institutions such as the General Church Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies, the Moscow State University and the Moscow Theological Academy. The Council enables to defend PhD dissertations and Doctor’s thesis in three theological areas.

The MThA Department of Church History held the All-Russian Scientific Conference «Archaeology is a place, where present meets past»
On November 17, 2022, the All-Russian Scientific Conference «Archaeology is a place, where present meets past» took place at the Elizabethan Hall of the Moscow Theological Academy. The event was dedicated to the 5th anniversary of archaeological practice organized for the Master’s students at the Church History Department of the Moscow Theological Academy.

The Oriental Studies Cabinet of the Moscow Theological Academy held the International Round Table "Egyptian Monasticism: Past and Present"
On November 15, 2022, the Oriental Studies Cabinet of the Moscow Theological Academy headed by Deacon Sergiy Panteleev held an international round table "Egyptian Monasticism: Past and Present". It was attended by historians of Egyptian monasticism and representatives of the Coptic Church and teachers of the Cairo Theological Seminary.

The Ph.D. thesis were defended at the Moscow Theological Academy
On November 9, 2022, during a regular meeting of the MThA Dissertation Council No. 2 uniting the departments of Church History, Church-practical Disciplines, Philology, History and Theory of Church Art, two Ph.D. dissertations were successfully defended.
