On March 10, Bishop Panteleimon, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Charity and Social activity, made a speech in the Great Hall of the Moscow Theological Activity. He told students about Synodal Department work and emphasized the importance of participating in the church social work.
Today, a first-year year student of the Moscow Theological Academy Pavel Denisik met with soldiers doing their duties in the Moscow region. He told to 500 conscripts about prenatal development of a child and some consequences of abortion according to modern scientific views.
On February 19th the Training Committee’s meeting between rectors and administration staff of theological institutions took place in an St. Andrew monastery conference hall. Rector, the bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim represented the Moscow Theological Academy.
On February 17th the bishop of Zvenigorod Pitirim, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, together with other MThA representatives visited the Saint-Petersburg Theological Academy. Guests observed lessons at the Church Art faculty.
On January 20 th Julia Matveeva, PhD in study of art, gave her first lecture on “Heaven and fabrics:
iconography, liturgical practice, historical development” which took place in the MThA library.
On January 15 th Chad Hatfield, President of St. Vladimir seminary in New York and a
representative of the Orthodox church in America, visited the Moscow Theological Academy.
In the evening on the 11 th of January students of the Precentor’s School of the Moscow Theological
Academy celebrated newborn Crist in a St. Trinity church of the St. Trinity-Sergiu’s Laura.
On December 17 th the metropolitan of Volokolamsk Ilarion, Head of the Office of
External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, gave a lecture in the main hall of
the Moscow Theological Academy on “Inter-Orthodox relations in a modern world”.
On December 5 th a concert “Music and soul” took place in the Elizabethan’s hall of the Moscow
Theological Academy. It was hold by the initiative of a third year student Gleb Shumko and his
wife Maria Shumko, student of the Crimean Federal university, with the blessing of an
administration of the Moscow Theological Academy.
On November 5 students of the Moscow Theological Academy started a series of meetings aimed for elderly people in Sergiev Posad. The first lesson of “Internet for beginners” programme took place in the Municipal Labor and Social Protection Department.
On November 13th Andrey Tutunov, Consultant of Church Art restoration, handed over 1913’s photo album with the Moscow Theological Academy graduates’ photos.
On the November 11th representatives of the Moscow Theological Academy, the Institute of Coptic Studies and the Coptic Theological Seminary met in Elizabeth’s hall due to have a round table discussion dedicated to the partnership between theological institutions.
