Sunday services on the Week of the Last Judgement

Today the Holy Church presents an extract from the Gospel of Matthew about the Last Judgment:

He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, «Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.

Love is a core of the Savior’s commandments. It made the salvation of the humankind possible. Breading this virtue, we follow in the steps of Jesus Christ and get the right to be called His disciples.

On February 26, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, officed an All-night vigil co-served by the clergy of the Intercession Church.

At the antiphons, Bishop Theodorite tonsured 3rd year undergraduate students Svyatoslav Shevtsov, Yaroslav Tyurin, Mikhail Mozdor as readers and a 3rd year PSTHU undergraduate student Timolay Khafizov into a subdeacon.

At the lithany, Bishop Theodorite proclaimed special petitions and a prayer for peace in Ukraine.

After the Eucharistic Canon, the Rector ordained Timolay Khafizov into a deacon.

After the sacrament verse, Hieromonk Varnava (Losev), Dean of the Intercession Church, read out the epistle from His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church.
