The path to the Resurrection always lies through suffering and humiliation on the Cross. Only the one, who believes in Christ and the Cross can descends with God to the very depths of hell and then rise in the Resurrection.

The whole life of a Christian is such a cross that it is impossible to carry alone. But the Lord established the Church to help everyone bear his burden. Together Christians become a single organism, a divine and human body of the Church. Therefore, every Christian should remember that sorrow, suffering, pain and death make the path that all people, without exception, go through. But how does a person follow the path? Whether he takes his cross or drops it.

No one, not even God, can force a person to follow the path. The Cross becomes a symbol of the voluntary acceptance of death as Christ Himself did it.

And now at the Divine Liturgy, the Church commemorates the Way of the Cross, which is an example to its members.

On September 30, the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, officiated an All-night Vigil co-served by teachers and students in the priesthood.

After the Kathisma, Vladimir Inshakov, a fourth-year undergraduate student, delivered a sermon.

On October 1, Bishop Kirill celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the first Sunday after the Exaltation of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord at the Intercession Academic Church.

At the antiphons, the archpastor tonsured fourth-year undergraduate students Sergei Shamray, Joseph Oparin, Anton Abaev and Nikita Kaliya as Readers.

After the Cherubic Hymn, Bishop Kirill ordained Deacon Bogdan Belashov, a first-year graduate student, into a presbyter.

Before the Communion, Evgeniy Shagunov, a preparatory Master's student, delivered a sermon focusing on the importance of good deeds in a Christian life.

At the end of the Liturgy, the Rector addressed an assembly with his archpastoral word.
