A new issue of the scientific journal «Church Historian»

The publishing house of the Moscow Theological Academy has released the eleventh issue of the scientific journal «Church Historian». An editor-in-chief is Professor Alexey Konstantinovich Svetozarsky, Head of the Church History Department. 

The new issue presents researches on Christian History, History of the Russian Church, national and world History, as well as study of church historical sources. 

The eleventh issue of the scientific journal «Church Historian» contains articles:

  • "The Origin of St. Savvaty of Tver", Priest Serafim Mikhailovich Belyaev, a Master's student at the Church History Department;

  • "The 50th anniversary celebration of the episcopal consecration of Patriarch Alexy I (Simansky) in 1963", Priest Alexander Viktorovich Palaznik, Master's student at the Moscow Theological Academy;
  • “On the Circumstances and Place of the Blinding of Grand Duke Vasily II”, Georgy Sergeevich Dmitriev, PhD of Theology, Associate Professor of the Department of General Humanitarian Disciplines, a lecturer in History of the Moscow Finance and Law Academy;
  • “Defeats were not expected (the celebrations associated with the formation of the State Mobile Militia in 1855)”, Nikolai Nikolayevich Smolin, PhD of Historical Sciences;
  • “A Bishop in the History of Church based on the Works of the Renovationist Metropolitan Alexander Vvedensky”, Mikhail Vasilievich Afanasiev, Master’s student at the Moscow Theological Academy;
  • “The preaching activity of Archbishop Ermogen (Golubev)”, Oleg Aleksandrovich Shabalin, Master's student of the Church History Department.

The authors are members of the Moscow Theological Academy and other educational institutions and scientific organizations, as well as students of the Department.
