"Your Resurrection, O Christ the Savior, Angels Sing in Heaven": the Academy celebrated the Resurrection of Christ

On May 2, the Academy celebrated the Resurrection of Christ.

Shortly before midnight, Archimandrite Luke (Golovkov) co-served by Hegumen Adrian (Pashin) and Hegumen Dionysiy (Shlenov) officed Easter Midnight service, after which the Shroud of Christ was solemnly transferred to the altar.

Thy Resurrection, Christ the Savior, angels sing in heaven, and make us praise You with a pure heart on earth».

The clergy, teachers, students and parishioners of the Intercession Church went on a procession around the temple. Finally, the joyful news spread that Christ is Risen!

At the end of the Matins, Bishop Theodorite read St. John Chrysostom’s epistle on Easter.

Bishop Theodorite celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Students and teachers of the Moscow Theological Academy read the Holy Gospel in foreign languages. This tradition symbolizes spreading the Good News throughout the world.

The Royal Gates will remain open during the Week after Easter symbolizing Doors of the Heavenly Kingdom, which the Lord has opened by His Resurrection.

After singing the sacrament verse, Hieromonk Varnava (Losev) read out the Easter Epistle of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.

At the end of the Liturgy, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite consecrated «artos» and addressed an assembly with the words of a greeting.
