The Rector celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the Synaxis of the Most Holy Mother of God

On the second day of Christmas, the Church celebrated the Synaxis of the Most Holy Theotokos and St. Joseph, Her Spouse. Teachers and students of the Moscow Theological Academy gathered at the Intercession Academic Church to glorify God and His saints.

By His Incarnation, the Lord showed His love to mankind and gave a real opportunity to become partakers of His Body. In the Holy Eucharist, people, enter Christ’s Body and form the Church. Once scattered, but now gathered, once alone, but now together, in the worship of God, we manifest the fulfillment of the ancient prophecy: 

«In that day,» says the LORD, «I will assemble the lame, I will gather the outcast And those whom I have afflicted; I will make the lame a remnant, And the outcast a strong nation; So the LORD will reign over them in Mount Zion From now on, even forever» (Mic.4:6-7).

On January 8, 2024, the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church co-served by teachers and students in the priesthood. 

After the Eucharistic Canon, the Rector ordained Oleg Kulinich, a second-year Master's student at the Sretenskaya Theological Academy, into a deacon. 

After the Communion Verse, Hieromonk Cassian (Plosky), a senior assistant to the Vice-rector for educational work, delivered a sermon. 

At the end of the morning service, the academic clergy sang the glorification to the Most Holy Theotokos in front of Hie festive icon.

On January 7, Archimandrite Venedikt (Knyazev) officiated an All-night Vigil co-served the teachers and students in the priesthood.
