On Great Wednesday, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church honored teachers of the Moscow Theological Academy with church awards

On April 28, Great Wednesday, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill celebrated the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

By the decree of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, a number of clergymen of the Moscow diocese, Patriarchal households outside Moscow, stauropegic parishes and monasteries and synodal departments were awarded with liturgical hierarchical awards for their diligent service to the Holy Church. Among them, there were teachers of the Moscow Theological Academy.

The right to wear an epigonation got:

  • Archpriest John Lapidus, Senior priest of the Church of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, Patriarchal Metochion at the Moscow State University, Associate Professor of the Department of Church Practical Disciplines of the Moscow Theological Academy;
  • Archpriest Vladimir Velikiy, cleric of the Intercession Academic Church, an assistant to the Vice-rector for educational work at the Moscow Theological Academy;
  • Priest Dimitry Baritsky, cleric of the Intercession Academic Church, Associate professor of the Moscow Theological Academy;
  • Priest Anthony Borisov, cleric of the Intercession Academic Church, Associate professor of the Moscow Theological Academy;
  • Priest Stefan Domuschi, cleric of the Intercession Academic Church, Associate professor of the Moscow Theological Academy;
  • Priest Dimitri Yermakov, cleric of the Intercession Academic Church, Associate professor of the Moscow Theological Academy;
  • Priest Ioann Kechkin, cleric of the Church of St. Gregory of Neocaesarea in Derbitsy, Moscow, Associate professor of the Moscow Theological Academy;
  • Priest Sergiy Redin, cleric of the Intercession Academic Church, an assistant to the Vice-rector for Educational work at the Moscow Theological Academy;
  • Priest Alexander Kuznetsov, cleric of the Intercession Academic Church, Vice-rector for representative work at the Moscow Theological Academy.

At the end of the Liturgy, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed an assembly with a sermon.
