The Educational Committee started the project “Memory of the Church”: conversations with witnesses of the Church life in the Soviet era”

On December 7, 2023, the Educational Committee held the first organizational meeting with representatives of seven higher theological educational institutions in the Moscow region and the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, dedicated to the beginning of the implementation of the pilot project “Memory of the Church”: conversations with witnesses of the Church life in the Soviet era.”

Archpriest Maxim Kozlov, Chairman of the Educational Committee, opened the event and told about the importance and relevance of the project, its purpose and main tasks.

The main goal of the project is to preserve and transmit from generation to generation the memories of eyewitnesses of the Church in the Soviet Union.

The meeting was attended by employees of the Educational Committee and representatives of higher religious educational institutions, who will be responsible for the direct “field work” on collecting memories.

Professor Alexey Konstantinovich Svetozarsky, Head of the Church History department at the Moscow Theological Academy, supported the project and commented on its implementation.
