The Moscow Theological Academy celebrated the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

Today the Church venerates the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, which defeated the death and opened the way to the Kingdom of Heaven:

Come, all lovers of God, seeing the Holy Cross lifted up, let us sing together and glorify the only Redeemer and God, crying: “Crucified on the wood of the Cross, do not despise us who pray to You!

On September 26, Archimandrite Platon (Igumnov) officiated an All-Night Vigil at the Intercession Academic Church co-served by the clergy of the Moscow Theological Academy.

During the Great Vespers, Archimandrite Platon performed a festive lithany and offered a prayer to the Lord for the consecration of bread.

After the Great Doxology, Archimandrite Benedict and the clergy solemnly the rite of the Exaltation of the Cross.

At the end of Matins, the clergy anointed the worshipers with holy oil.

On September 27, the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy co-served by the academic clergy at the Intercession Church.

At the Liturgy, the bishop was co-celebrated by Archimandrite Sergius (Pushkar), Abbot of the Intercession Monastery in New Gracanica in Chicago (Novogracanica and Midwestern American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church) and the academic clergy.

Before the Communion, Hegumen Meletius (Sokolov) delivered a sermon.

After the prayer behind the ambo, the clergy glorified the Lord in front of His Honorable Cross.

At the end of the Liturgy, Bishop Kirill congratulated the worshipers and addressed an assembly with his archpastoral word.
