Bishop Kirill performed the Sunday Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church

The Eucharist is the core of a Christian life. Inexpressible thanksgiving (εὐχαριστία) to the Savior for His love unites different people into the Church, in one assembly.

The current situation proves that the world has always been in pieces and in division; there is no unity in it. People strive to live follow rules of this world do not understand each other. However, for a Christian it is obvious that unity and understanding can be achieved only in God, Who is the inexhaustible Source of unity, understanding and love.

Therefore, every Sunday the Church gathers for the Divine Liturgy, in order to thank God and take part in the Holy Sacrament of Eucharist.

On November 12, on the eve of Sunday, Archimandrite Venedikt (Knyazev) officed an All-night Vigil at the Intercession Academic Church co-served by the academic clergy.

Before the Kathisma, Alexander Bezrukikh, a fourth-year undergraduate student, delivered a sermon, in which he spoke about the God's care for a man. As an example, he took the Gospel passage read at the Matins.

On Sunday, November 13, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, performed the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church co-served by the church clergy.

At the litany, Bishop Kirill pronounces special petitions for our country and the Russian army.

After the Great Entrance, Bishop Kirill performed ordained Deacon Ioann Popov, a first-year postgraduate student, into a presbyter. After the Eucharistic Canon, he ordained Subdeacon Ioann Kiziun, a first-year Master’s student, into a deacon.

After the Sacrament verse, Ilya Bondarenko, a fourth-year undergraduate student, delivered a sermon, in which he turned to the exegesis of the Sunday Gospel passage. The preacher emphasized that even the smallest and most insignificant sin can cause many other passions and vices in a human heart. However, by opening your heart to the Savior and admitting your weakness, a person can be healed from his spiritual ailments.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Kirill addressed an assembly with his archpastoral word.
