Sunday services at the Intercession Academic Church
On October 2 and 3, the Academy officed Sunday services at the Intercession Academic Church.
In the evening, Archimandrite Platon (Igumnov) headed an All-night vigil co-served by teachers and students in the priesthood.
On October 3, Archimandrite Benedict (Knyazev) celebrated the Divine Liturgy together with the clergy of an academic church.
Chanting at the Divine Liturgy performed by an Orthodox choir of Engineering troops of the Russian Armed Forces "For the Faith and Fatherland" conducted by its artistic director Hegumen Varnava (Stolbikov). The ensemble takes part in various military-cultural events and consists mainly of the Russian Armed Forces staff.
After singing the sacrament verse, Nikita Sedelnikov, a 4th year undergraduate student, delivered a sermon:
Holy martyrs give us a great example of love, patience and courage in the struggle with our weaknesses, fear or cowardice. We can use their example in our peaceful life. If we do not under persecutions, then, perhaps, we can struggle with our passions as martyrdom, where a true winner is the one who endured everything, did not despair, did not give up, but went to the end.
