PhD theses were defended at the Moscow Theological Academy

 On June 9, 2022, a regular meeting of the MThA Dissertation Council No. 2, which unites the departments of Church History, Church-practical disciplines, Philology, History and Theory of Church Art, held the defense of two PhD theses.

Priest Pavel Al. Efremov presented his dissertation "Memoirs and Diaries from the Funds of the Russian Foreign Historical Archive as a Historical Source on the History of the Russian Orthodox Church in 1917–1927."

His scientific advisor was Professor Vladimir M. Kirillin, Head of the Philology Department. 

The official opponents were Andrey Al. Kostryukov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, PhD in Theology, Professor at the Department of the Russian Orthodox Church History of St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Humanitarian University, and Dmitry A. Karpuk, PhD in Theology, Associate Professor, Head at the Postgraduate School of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy.

The candidate successfully answered comments and questions from opponents and members of the dissertation council. As a result, the Council decided to send a petition to His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill to award Priest Pavel Efremov the PhD degree in Theology.

Konstantin N. Nedosekin successfully defended his dissertation “Church-administrative management of the Russian Orthodox Church in the canonical theory of N.S. Suvorov". 

His scientific advisor was Associate Professor Archpriest Alexander Zadornov, Head of the Department of Church and Practical Disciplines.

The official opponents were Archpriest Vadim G. Suvorov, Dr. of Theology, Associate Professor, Head of the Church History Department of the Kolomna Theological Seminary, and Alexei V. Vedyaev, PhD in Theology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Church and Practical Disciplines of the Samara Theological Seminary.

Konstantin N. Nedosekin answered comments and questions from opponents and members of the dissertation council. As a result, the Council decided to send a petition to His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill to award K.N. Nedosekin the PhD degree in Theology.
