Moscow Theological Academy Holds Open House

On October 30, the Moscow Theological Academy opened its doors to prospective students to introduce them to undergraduate, master's, and postgraduate educational programs, as well as the faculties of Church Singing Art and Icon Painting.

The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Priest Pavel Lizgunov. After conveying a welcoming address from the Rector of the MThA, Bishop Kirill of Sergiyev Posad and Dmitrov, to all those gathered, he spoke about the goals and objectives facing the Academy and introduced the guests to the structure of the theological school. The Vice-Rector paid special attention in his remarks to the content of the educational program of the Theological-Pastoral Faculty.

The Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of the Academy, Hegumen Daniil (Vasilenko), spoke about the specifics of the educational process at the theological school and the provisions of the Moscow Theological Academy charter. 

The Secretary of the Admissions Committee, Khristina Brilenkova, informed prospective students about the rules for the 2026 admissions campaign and indicated which documents would need to be submitted to the Academy's office upon application.

Next, guests of the theological school were able to get acquainted with the work and educational process of each faculty separately.

Prospective students of the Icon Painting Faculty met with the Dean of the faculty, Archimandrite Luka (Golovkov). During the conversation, guests learned about the faculty's admission requirements, the necessary skills an applicant should possess, as well as the internal schedule of life for a student of the Icon Painting Faculty. 

Applicants wishing to learn choir conducting skills were addressed by the Dean of the Faculty of Church Singing Art, Hegumen Lazar (Gnativ). He introduced guests to the faculty's curriculum and spoke about the entrance examinations.

The heads of the master's degree profiles and the Academy's postgraduate department presented applicants with the educational directions implemented at the second and third stages of higher education.
