A meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly on Culture, Science and Education Committee took place at the Moscow Theological Academy

On March 1, a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly on Culture, Science and Education Committee took place at the Elizabethan Hall of the Moscow Theological Academy. The event was attended by the Bishop of Zvenigorod Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, Chairman of the Committee Nikolai Burlyaev, Deputy Chairman Anatoly Shchastny, members of the Committee Olga Germanova, Natalia Kosikhina, Anna Starovoitova, Union State Committee representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Government of the Moscow Region and the Administration of the Sergiev Posad City District.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly is Vyacheslav Volodin. The parliamentarians discussed current proposals, which concern the preservation of memorial sites and military graves funded by the Union State. Representatives of the government of the Moscow region and the administration of the Sergiev Posad city district spoke about the work for maintaining memorials and military burials in the region in proper condition. The committee came up with a proposal to install an obelisk in memory of Sergiev Posad citizens perished during the Second World War.
