The Academy held the first meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council in the new academic year

On September 18, 2023, the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, chaired a meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council.

At the meeting, Archpriest Alexander Zadornov, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Theological Work, held a report on anniversary events and the schedule of students’ conferences in the 2023/24 academic year.

Priest Pavel Lizgunov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, spoke about additions to a plan of main working disciplines, which is necessary for synchronizing lectures and seminars. 

Hegumen Adrian (Pashin), a scientific secretary, made some additions to the Regulations on final qualifying work at the Moscow Theological Academy, related to new criteria for assessing students' theses by academic advisors and reviewers.

Deacon Dimitry Serov, Director of the MThA Publishing House, touched upon the schedule of scientific publications of the Academy and the creation of a group of thematic editors for the journal «Theological Bulletin».

The Scientific and Methodological Council of the Moscow Theological Academy is a collegial group that coordinates scientific and methodological work in order to improve the educational process, research activities and the quality of students’ training. The Council comes under to the Rector and the Academic Council of the Moscow Theological Academy.
