The Bishop of Istra Seraphim met with the MThA students

On November 7, the Bishop of Istra Seraphim, Vicar of His Holiness the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus', Chairman of the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs, had a meeting with students of the theological school, which was dedicated to «Ecclesiology in the light of shepherding». The event took place at the Elizabethan Hall of the Moscow Theological Academy.

Talking about the peculiarities of shepherding nowadays, Bishop Seraphim shared his experience of pastoral service. To explain the nature of the priesthood, he turned to the history of the emergence of hierarchical service in the Church. In addition, he touched upon issues related to the Sacrament of Ordination.

Bishop Seraphim emphasized that the beginning of the New Testament hierarchy was laid by the Lord Himself, Who is the Creator of order. However, it must be remembered that the main aim is not to prevalence, but service.

The topic awoke alive interest. During the meeting, students asked Bishop Seraphim their questions.
