Meeting of a renewed leadership of the Joint Doctoral Dissertation Council

On September 30, a remote meeting of the leadership of the Joint Doctoral Dissertation Council of the Moscow, St. Petersburg and Minsk Theological Academies was held via Zoom.

On September 1, 2020, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia approved archpriest Konstantin Kostromin, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy, and Priest Pavel Lizgunov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Moscow Theological Academy, as new scientific secretaries.

Archimandrite Sergiy (Akimov), Rector of the Minsk Theological Academy, Chairman of the Joint Doctoral Dissertation Council, presided at the meeting. It was attended by D.V. Makarov, Deputy Chairman, an employee of the Academic Committee. and new scientific secretaries. Due to the epidemiological situation, the meeting was held online.

Participants discussed the procedure for organizing the further work of the Dissertation Council, the range of duties for new scientific secretaries such as record keeping and news coverage of the Council's activities on the websites of the Theological Academies. They also touched upon the preparation for the interim monitoring of doctoral dissertations and preparation for next Council meeting scheduled for autumn 2020.
