On the Day of Rejoicing, Bishop Theodorite celebrated the Divine Liturgy and performed a deacon's ordination

On May 11, according to a tradition, funeral services on the Day of Rejoicing were held at the Intercession Church of the Moscow Theological Academy. The name of the holiday originates from a word "joy", as the faithful celebrate Christ’s Resurrection and share their glees with both alive and departed relatives.

In contrast to the Bright Week, when all funeral litanies were omitted, they start to proclaim during divine services.

The Rector Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church co-served by teachers and students in the priesthood.

At the Hours, Bishop Theodorite elevated Reader Dmitry Markov, a third-year postgraduate student of St. Tikhon's Orthodox Humanitarian University, to the rank of a subdeacon.

During the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Theodorite ordained Subdeacon Dmitri into a deacon.

At the end of the Liturgy, Bishop Theodorite officed funeral services. 

Then the Rector, clergy, teachers and students of the Academy went on a procession around the Intercession Church.
