The Academy celebrated the Cathedral of Moscow Saints
On October 18, the Church honors the memory of Russian Church hierarchs, who make the Cathedral of Moscow Saints, such as Peter, Theognost, Alexy, Cyprian, Photius, Jonah, Gerontius, Joasaph, Macarius, Philip, Job, Hermogenes, Philaret, Innokenty, Macarius, Tikhon and Peter.
The service of the honored saints fell on different historical periods. For example, there is a six-century gap between the Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Russia Peter (1326), and the Metropolitan of Krutitsk Peter (1937).
Despite this time difference, each of them can be considered our contemporary, because in Christ there is not a boundary between time and eternity. Even in our earthly life any Christian is able to partake the great mystery in the Holy Eucharist.
On October 18, Archimandrite Venedikt (Knyazev) performed the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church co-served by students and students in the priesthood.
After the Sacrament verse, Alexey Makhonkov, a first-year Master's student, delivered a sermon, in which he drew the attention to the virtues and courage, which distinguished the Moscow saints.
