The Academy celebrated the day of uncovering the relics of St. Ambrose of Optina

On July 9 and 10, there were Sunday services at the Moscow Theological Academy on the day of uncovering of the relics of St. Ambrose of Optina.

Like to a healing spring, we flow to you, St. Ambrose, our father, as you instruct us on the path of the salvation, protect us from troubles and misfortunes with your prayers, comfort us in our bodily and spiritual sorrows, and teach us the humility, patience and love; pray to merciful Christ and the Mother of God to save our souls.

On July 9, the Bishop of Zvenigorod Theodorite, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, officed an all-night vigil at the Intercession Academic Church co-served by the academic clergy.

During the service, Dmitry Sandulyak, a Master’s student, delivered a sermon.

On July 10, the Rector celebrated the Divine Liturgy in a lower seminary church in honor of the Holy Great Martyrs Barbara, Anastasia and Martyr Akilina co-served by Archimandrite Mikhail (Borey), a key-holder of a seminary church in honor of St. John Climacus, and Hieromonk Mikhey (Kopytov).
