Bishop Kirill officiated on the memory day of St. Apostle Andrew the First-Called

Now the host of the apostles and the whole Church rejoice. Today, like it was two thousand years ago, the flame of Pentecost embraces human hearts and helps its humble servants to carry out their duties. Through the prayers of the academic family, his family and friends, the Holy Spirit was bestowed on Alexey in the first degree of the priesthood.

Today is a special day, as we remember St. Apostle Andrew, who became the first one, who followed Christ. Now, he abides in the glory of God and offers his prayers to the Lord to heal human infirmities, replenish every deficiency and strengthen His newly ordained servants.

On December 13, on the memory day of St. Apostle Andrew the First-Called, the Bishop of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov Kirill, Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Intercession Academic Church.

During the service, Bishop Kirill ordained Alexey Vedernikov, a first-year Master's student, into a deacon.

Before the Communion, Deacon Maxim Shevtsov, a first-year Master's student, delivered a sermon.

Background information:

Chanting performed by the first academic choir under the conduct of Alexey Antonovich, a fourth- year undergraduate student, and the second academic choir led by A.O. Leventsov.
