Postgraduate students of the Moscow Theological Academy started a new academic year
On September 4, 2023, postgraduate students of the Moscow Theological Academy started their classes at St. Andrew’s Monastery.
Hegumen Dionysiy (Shlenov), Abbot of St. Andrew's Monastery and Head of Postgraduate studies, and teaching staff of the Moscow Theological Academy greeted greeted first-year postgraduate students with the beginning of a new academic year.
The day began with the Divine Liturgy served by Hegumen Dionysiy at the Resurrection of St. Andrew's Monastery.
After the Divine Liturgy, in the Assembly Hall Hegumen Dionysiy gave the first lecture on the “Condemnation of ethnophyletism at the Constantinople Council in 1872 and its background”, in which he presented opinions by a number of modern Greek theologians and historians.
At the end of the lecture, Associate Professor D.V. Makarov, Deputy head of a postgraduate school, introduced students to the features of an educational process, which answer the Federal state requirements for training programs for scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in a postgraduate school.
After the festive meal, students were given a guided tour round St. Andrew's Monastery.
Background information:
According to the decision of the Holy Synod on March 24, 2022 (Journal No. 26), the position of Abbot of St. Andrew’s Stauropegic Monastery was assigned to Professor Hegumen Dionysius (Shlenov), Head of the postgraduate school of the Moscow Theological Academy.
