On December 21, 2023, a concert-exam on “Practice of working with the choir” for fourth-year students of the Faculty of Church Singing Arts took place at the Elizabeth Hall of the Moscow Theological Academy. Head of the subject was Anna Sergeevna Torbina.

The concert program included secular works of Russian composers performed by a chamber choir of students. The piano part was performed by Daria Kasyanenko and Victoria Borisova.

The concert-exam was opened by the works of Russian classical composers such as M. Glinka, P. Tchaikovsky, A. Cui, S. Rachmaninov, A. Grechaninov, M. Ippolitov-Ivanov, P. Chesnokov, R. Gliere.

The evening continued with a performance of a number of works written for the children's choir, as well as Vladimir Belyaev's "Christmas Suite".

The final piece of music was Mikhail Slavkin’s “Snow” based on the words of Eleanor Fargen.

At the concert, students were able to present the result of their long work both individually and in groups.

In conclusion, Dean of the faculty, Hegumen Lazar (Gnativ) made a speech and wished the graduates to enrich their repertoire with both classical and modern compositions, which can become a good alternative to the music promoted by the media.
