Academy celebrated the Deposition of the Venerable Vestment of the Most Holy Theotokos and the memory of the holy noble princes Peter and Fevronia of Murom.

On September 12th and 13th, Sunday services were held at the Intercession academic church. On these days the faithful celebrate the Day of the Deposition of the Venerable Belt of the Most Holy Theotokos and the memory of the holy noble princes Peter and Fevronia of Murom. Archimandrite Benedict (Knyazev) officed an evening service and the Divine Liturgy.

According to a legend, the Most Holy Theotokos entrusted Her Belt to the Apostle Thomas. After his death it was kept by pious Christians in Jerusalem. In the IX century, the believers opened the shrine with the imperishable Belt and placed it on a suffering from an evil spirit wife of Emperor Leo the Wise. As soon as she touched the Belt, Empress Zoe received healing. An established feast reminds of that miraculous event and the second deposition of the honorable Belt.

Another holiday fallen on this Sunday was the memory of Saint Peter and Fevronia, the wonderworkers of Murom. Fevronia was a wise, modest and pious. Prince Peter fell in love with that righteous girl and merry her. Many trials fell to the lot of young spouses. Being true Christians they did not grumble about difficulties, but humbly bore their cross supporting and helping each other.

Saints Peter and Fevronia formed an outstanding example of Christian marriage. Today, the Russia Church celebrated the move of their holy relics, which took place in 1992.

The Divine Liturgy finished with the doxology to holy spouses Peter and Fevronia.

Pleasing you, Saint Peter and Fevronia the wonderworkers, and honor your holy memory, as you pray for us to Christ the Lord..

A male choir led by Vitaly Chuvilov and a female one under the conduct of Ksenia Tarelkina sang at the services.
