Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s greeting to the Moscow Theological Academy

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia greeted the Moscow Theological Academy on the Feast day of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos. In his letter addressed to the Rector, teachers and students, he noted an important role of the Academy, which for centuries has been a leading theological institution of the Russian Orthodox Church. His Holiness expressed his regret that spreading coronavirus infection had intruded into a habitual way of living and studying. However, according to St. Ignatius (Bryanchaninov)’s words, a soul formed by sorrows becomes strong and honorable in the God’s eyes, and the one who patiently undergoes all the obstacles will not miss his spiritual goods. Thus, it is pleasant to see how pupils of the great St. Sergius’ cell show the evangelical love, patience, mercy and kindness in these hard times. The Patriarch Kirill wished the Rector, teachers and students of the Moscow Theological Schools, piece and joy in the Holy Spirit, spiritual and physical strength, God’s help and His blessing to working and studying for the good of the Church.
