
Moscow Theological Academy Students Join Celebration of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Moscow
On May 24, 2025, the Day of Slavic Written Language and Culture, the Slavic Foundation of Russia, in collaboration with the Moscow government and the Moscow Patriarchate, held a solemn ceremony with the participation of foreign students from the Moscow Theological Academy.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Moscow government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, state and public organizations, and clergy of the Moscow Patriarchate. With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, Bishop Roman of Serpukhov led the moleben (prayer service) before the start of the ceremony.

The ceremony consisted of a solemn laying of flowers at the monument to the holy brothers, equals-to-the-apostles, accompanied by speeches of gratitude and keynote addresses on the significance of the holy brothers and the importance of unity among all representatives of Orthodox civilization. The official part was followed by performances from a number of artistic groups, who presented the singing and dancing culture of the Russian, Bulgarian, Greek, and other Orthodox peoples.

This is the second year that the Moscow Theological Academy has participated in this event. This year, the Academy was represented by a group of students from North Macedonia, Montenegro, Georgia, the Philippines, Lebanon, the Republic of Congo, Benin, Kenya, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The group was accompanied by A.S. Terentyev, a specialist from the Academy's International Department.

The Academy students extend their thanks to the Director of the Slavic Foundation of Russia, K.V. Mireisky, for the invitation to participate in the solemn ceremony.
