The students visited schools and gymnasiums in Tver and Torzhok, including the Tver Diocesan Orthodox Secondary School named after St. Tikhon of Zadonsk.

The mission was overseen by Archpriest Vadim Zhelyabovsky, the dean of the II Church District of Tver. The students held discussions with middle and high school students on topics of morality, family, friendship, and love, with a special focus on commemorating the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

On April 3, the mission participants visited Tver’s Correctional Colony No. 1. An excursion of the facility was conducted by the assistant head of the colony for educational work. Archpriest Mikhail Belyaev, head of the diocesan department for prison ministry, introduced the students to the life of the Orthodox community of inmates. A tea gathering took place in the colony’s church, during which inmates shared their stories, and the students spoke about their journey toward priesthood.

On April 4, the students met with Metropolitan Ambrose of Tver and Kashin at the Holy Ascension Cathedral in Tver. The hierarch led a prayer service at the relics of Holy Martyr Thaddeus, Archbishop of Tver, and presented the missionaries with certificates of appreciation. Over lunch, the students shared their impressions of the trip with the hierarch, discussed the challenges of missionary practice, and addressed questions related to pastoral ministry.

The missionary practice of the Moscow Theological Academy students in the Tver Diocese is conducted under a cooperation agreement between the Academy and the Tver Metropolis.

This trip marked the tenth in the program aimed at preparing future pastors and strengthening spiritual ties between theological schools and dioceses.
