Rector of the Moscow Theological Academy met with first-year students
On September 5, 2022, the Rector Archimandrite Kirill (Zinkovsky) met with first-year students of the Propaedeutic course, the Church Singing Art Faculty and the Faculty of Church Art and Iconography in the Great Hall of the Moscow Theological Academy.
The Rector congratulated the students on their admission to the oldest theological educational institution in Russia and wished them all the best success on their difficult path of studying Theology, singing and icon painting. At the same time, he urged students to tune in to the rhythm of serious work and have a diligent attitude to study.
During the conversation, Archimandrite Kirill quoted Apostle Paul’s words knowledge puffs up, but love edifies (1 Cor. 8: 1), which should become the fundamental principle of a students’ life. The knowledge acquired within the walls of the Academy is aimed to help them in their spiritual life and create the basis for an integral worldview.
The Rector expressed his hope that time at the Academy would be spent to acquire the most valuable personal skills that are necessary for good priests and everyone who serves for the benefit of the Church of Christ.
Students could also ask the Rector some questions.
At the end of the meeting, Archimandrite Kirill presented students with Bibles.
